The flagship of the Fathom Series
The FL24 is the largest light we build for below the waterline: a 24-LED array producing 12,000 raw lumens at 120 watts, behind the same 65° Hydro Block optic that keeps the beam in the water instead of scattering it at the surface. It's rated for vessels up to 150 feet — sportfish, motor yachts, and anything where a pair of smaller fixtures simply won't cover the water behind the boat. Available in White, Deep Blue, dual-color Blue/White, and RGB color-changing.
Why the flagship exists
Coverage you can't get from a smaller fixture
Past a certain hull length, adding more small lights stops working — you end up with bright patches and dark water between them. The FL24 solves it with output, not quantity.
0124-LED Array, 12,000 Lumens
Three times the diode count of the FL6 and 50% more than the FL12, driven at 120 watts. One FL24 covers water that would otherwise need multiple fixtures and multiple holes in the hull.
02One 0.7″ Hole
All that output still mounts on the surface. The only penetration is a 0.7-inch pass-through for the wire, plus three screws — no large thru-hull cutout, no fairing block, no yard bill.

A milled AB2 bronze body carries 120 watts of heat into the water, and IP68 / IP69 / IP69K ratings plus reverse polarity protection and thermal rollback keep the electronics alive in salt.
Plan the circuit first: the FL24 draws 10A at 12V (5A at 24V). That's a dedicated, properly fused circuit per light on a 12V system — worth confirming with your installer before ordering a pair.

Each version runs its own dedicated LED array. White renders true color on bait and structure, deep blue reaches farthest through open water, and the dual-color and RGB fixtures carry multiple arrays behind one lens.

Fewer lights, fewer holes
On a large hull the FL24 lets you hit full coverage with a pair on the transom where smaller fixtures would need four or six — less wiring, fewer penetrations, less current in total. Mount them on the transom, down the sides, or above the waterline for accent light.

FL6, FL12, or FL24 — which do I need?
It comes down to hull size and how much water you're trying to light. The FL6 gives 4,100 lumens from 6 LEDs (40W) and the FL12 gives 8,000 from 12 LEDs (55W), both rated to 65 feet on a 4.3″ body. The FL24 is the flagship: 12,000 lumens from 24 LEDs at 120W on a 5.12″ body, rated to 150 feet. Choose the FL24 for large hulls, serious fishing programs, or anywhere you want maximum coverage from the fewest fixtures.
How do I change colors on the RGB or Blue/White?
With the switch that powers it. Flick the switch off and immediately back on and the light advances to the next color, then continues cycling. No controller, no second circuit, no extra wiring — that's true for both the dual-color Blue/White and the full-spectrum RGB.
What kind of circuit does it need?
Each FL24 pulls 10 amps at 12V, or 5 amps at 24V. Wire and fuse each light for its own draw, and size the total for every fixture on the circuit. If you're running a pair on a 12V system, that's 20 amps — plan the harness accordingly, or step up to 24V where available.
How do I know these lights are high quality?
IP68, IP69, and IP69K are pass/fail test standards — water ingress, temperature, pressure, and brute force — and the FL24 carries all three. The body is milled from solid AB2 bronze, the alloy family used for propellers and thru-hull fittings.
Do the underwater lights come with a harness?
No. Each light has a spliced pigtail and needs wiring and a switch to be operational. Harnesses and switches are available as add-ons.
Does it need a large hole in the hull?
No. Despite the output, the FL24 is a surface-mount fixture. The only penetration is a 0.7-inch pass-through for the wire, plus three mounting screws — no thru-hull cutout and no fairing block.
Can I run it out of the water?
Yes. The FL24 is rated for use in and out of the water. Active thermal rollback protects the array when there's no water to carry heat away — worth knowing on a 120-watt fixture.

I installed one of these lights on my 2018 Yamaha 242X between the jet drives, and let me tell you, the light this thing puts out is impressive! Wish I had more room so I could add another one, but glad I went with this model since I only had space for one. I would definitely recommend this light!

The RGB version was easy to install and I like how it cycles through the colors with just a simple on/off switch. I didn't want any extra modules when running these lights. The light output was very impressive. I can't say enough about Black Oak's customer service as well. It's a rarity to get on the phone with anyone nowadays.
