Collection: Construction LED Lights
Construction Light Bar
The work doesn't stop when the sun goes down. Many people on a construction site know you've got to put the time in, even if it's dark. Instead of using a bunch of fiddly folding temporary lighting fixtures, turn to Black Oak LED. Our light bars and pod lights are much more durable than temporary lighting solutions and will save you time and money. Why Use Vehicle-Mounted Work Lights?
Many construction lights are small handheld or stand-mounted affairs. They can be useful, but they are usually not bright enough. Instead, you want a light source that can illuminate the largest construction sites, travel with you, and provide powerful illumination so the job gets done right.Vehicle-mounted lights, like Black Oak's LED light bars, have distinct advantages:
- Combination of flood lights and spotlights to light up the entire construction site
- Connect to your work truck's battery, or second battery, to have reliable power wherever the work site is located
- Superior LED construction makes these lights very reliable and dependable
Light Bars as Job Site Lights and Construction Lights
We know Black Oak light bars won't work for every job site. If you're on a huge job site with hundreds of workers and machines, a fixed lighting solution is probably the way to go. But there are many people who could do great with a light bar for their LED work lights:- First responders and emergency vehicles that need reliable illumination at all times of the day
- Field service teams that travel to changing work sites
- Construction supervisors and teams that need an extra hour every now and then to finish the job
How to Set Up LED Work Lights
You can power your equipment in a few different ways, depending on the LED work lights you use. All of these are going to be better than some string lights dangling in your way all the time. Let's take a look at some of these options.Use an LED construction light bar on your work truck or vehicle
You can install LED work lights as a bar on your truck. This will let you light up a large area with reliable and bright light. The light bar will run on your vehicle's battery, which will be a quick and easy way to get light wherever you need it. Just roll up at the job site, flip the switch, and you are ready to work.
How long will a light bar run on your battery? Our smaller light bars, such as the 20" double row LED, feature a low amp draw. The 20" draws 8.1 amps, so it should be good for 5-6 hours in most work trucks (they have a 75 amp-hour battery). Of course, you should check your equipment and battery to plan your work.
Connect a pod light for Temporary Construction Lighting
Our LED pod lights can be hooked into your 12V power supply with a 20' cord. Choose a clamp base or suction cup base. Then, you can plug in your lights and get visibility wherever you are working. All our lights feature Dynamax housing, so you can rely on their durability. Raining? Snowing? Hurricane? Our lights are rated IP69K, the highest level of ingress protection you can get. So they will withstand the heat, cold, and moisture wherever your job site is located.
How long will a pod light run on your battery? A small pod light draws just a few amps, as little as 2.8. If you have a normal work truck battery (usually has a capacity of 75 amp hours or so), then you're good to go for 15-20 hours with no problem.
Run a dual battery system to power all the wattage you need
If you want to run lights for even longer, you can install a second battery in your vehicle (if it doesn't already have one). This isn't a complicated process and most drivers should be able to do it. You'll need a second battery, an isolator switch, and somewhere to install it. The rest is just wiring.
How long will lights run with two batteries? You can get hold of 100 amp hour truck batteries pretty easily. One of our largest light bars, the 50" double row, draws just over 20 amps. So, you could power that massive light bar for about 5 hours and still be able to start your truck from your starter battery.
