The color of light that attracts fish for fishing varies depending on the species and the conditions, but some general patterns have been observed in scientific studies:

1. Green Light: Green light is particularly effective in attracting fish. This is because green light can penetrate the water better than other colors, reaching depths of around 70 to 75 feet. In some studies, green light was found to attract a larger number of smaller baitfish, while white light attracted fewer but larger baitfish. Green lights are commonly used in fishing due to their ability to penetrate deeper into the water and their visibility to a wide range of fish species.
2. White Light: White light, which is composed of all colors in the spectrum, can also be effective, especially because it offers great contrast in low light conditions. This can make it a good choice for night fishing when fish rely more on detecting contrast and movement rather than color.
3. Red Light: There is evidence that certain species, like sardines and horse mackerel, are particularly attracted to red light. However, the overall effectiveness of red light in attracting fish might not be as high as that of green or white light.

Underwater green fishing lights
